In this webinar, Mr. Les Schmidt joined us to share his thoughts on the fascinating and obscured topic of “Exploring AI Entrepreneurship for Youth.” Mr. Schmidt took the Youth AI Lab audience on an exciting exploration of AI entrepreneurship, sharing key insights from his extensive experience in building companies and advising hundreds of AI startup founders worldwide. Les Schmidt is a serial entrepreneur and leader. As an executive, he has led startups, middle-stage, and public companies. His forte is leading businesses through the search for strategic direction, product iterations, and financing. His resume includes taking two companies public, many mergers & acquisitions, and raising capital and other financings. Mr. Schmidt took on transforming the San Francisco 49ers as the organization’s COO and CFO in 2001. He also worked as an Executive Vice President at Adobe Systems, where he worked with the world’s largest mobile operators, OEMs, and content providers to bring rich experiences to mobile phones and other devices. In addition, Mr. Schmidt was the COO of GlobalEnglish Corporation and Executive Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurial Leadership (IEL) – a business accelerator in Concord, California focused on under-served founders – veterans, women, and minority-owned businesses. IEL graduated over 200 participants from its programs and those companies collectively generated $1.7 Billion in revenue in 2015 and employed over 4000 people. Currently, Mr. Schmidt is the executive director and co-founder of BRIIA / The Intelligent Accelerator. He founded the early-stage startup Accelerator and built an entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports AI/ML-powered startups that are creating business (B2B) solutions. The Accelerator assists upcoming entrepreneurs with the launch of new products, providing mentoring, resources, and practical advice to founders in the program. Additionally, Les is working with large global companies to help them innovate, create new products and take those products to market. As a project partner at Blue Dots, LLC., he has worked with companies like the global credit rating agency Fitch and startups using video recognition to revolutionize the construction industry like OpenSpace.ai. He’s currently working on a project to help Sony take their blue-ray technology into space!
